Book Drive

Over the summer, the members, friends and family spent countless weekends collecting, sorting and packaging school supplies. As a result of our hard work and commitment, we successfully shipped over 7,000 books, school supplies and stationary to two adopted schools: Rock River and Auchtembeddie All Age School.

We have received confirmation that both schools have received their crates.

Principle, Stevie Williams, of Aucthembeddie:

"On behalf of the Broad of Governors, Staff, Students and Parents of the Auchtembeddie All Age School- Jamaica, I hereby use this medium to express sincere thanks and appreciation for the gift of books, stationery and other learning materials from you and the Boston J UM P."

Principle, Ms. Ankle, of Rock River:

"All of you have been so nice in such a thoughtful way. It's hard to find a way to thank each one of you today... your kindness will never be forgotten."

Book DriveThe first Boston J.U.M.P book drive went off without a hitch...cough cough. well lets just say it was a raving success. Through the efforts of the dedicated members of our growing organization, along with countless hours of contribution to this cause by close friends and family. We succeeded in delivering over 7,000 books & school supplies to two impoverished schools in the rural areas of Jamaica.  The recipients of  these books & supplies were overjoyed with what they had received. They say pictures are worth a thousand words so keep an eye out for our photo section which will be up soon.

Multi Cultural Event

Boston Jump represented Jamaica at Unity's annual multi-cultural event on September 26, 2008 6pm-11pm.  14 Caribbean countries set-up booths displaying items: such as art, spices and foods from their homeland. The food and entertainment was exquisite. Panama's Hominy Corn porridge was on point. Members of Boston JUMP donated jerk chicken. Javon Martin rocked the crowd with an original rap performance, and Secretary Viv Sullivan gave a 2 minute presentation on Jamaica. The steel band was magnificent. It was evident that people love and respect Jamaicans. This year we will do it bigger and better.

One Year Anniversary

It was a celebration of epic proportions as October 25th marked the 1 year anniversary for Boston J.U.M.P. It was an event that featured music, food and most importantly of all guest speakers. We were fortunate enough to have the company of not one but two well established guest speakers.  We had the pleasure of listening to Mr. Patrick Beckford who is the chairperson for the Jamaica Diaspora movement for North East USA. Also we were joined by Mrs. Shirley Shillingford, President of the Boston Carnival Association. Photos of this Momentous occasion coming soon.
